Why Your Mindset Is the Key to Scaling
Are you tired of spending all your energy treading water to run your business, putting out fires and dealing with setbacks?
If so, you’re not alone.
Many women entrepreneurs scaling businesses face the challenge of getting unstuck, overcoming obstacles, and gaining momentum amidst the day-to-day noise.
The secret? A growth mindset. A mental approach where individuals actively seek out situations that are slightly unstable or unpredictable, viewing them as fertile ground for learning, innovation, and personal growth. They embrace balancing order and chaos to push beyond comfort zones and foster creativity.
A growth mindset isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s the foundation for:
Transitioning from reactive to proactive leadership.
Building powerful, aligned teams that move strategy forward.
Thriving in the tension between chaos and order by living on the edge of chaos.*
Today, let’s explore how you can shift your mindset to scale with intention and confidence.
4 Ways to Scale
Growth mindset isn’t just a buzzword. It’s the key to leading with clarity and scaling your business sustainably. Here’s how to know if you have it—and how to develop it if you don’t.
1) Start With 8-Figure CEO Thinking**
The difference between businesses stuck at 6 figures and those scaling to 8 figures is the CEO and team mindset:
8-Figure Business leaders ask their teams what they’re focusing on. 6-Figure Business leaders tell their teams what to work on.
8-Figure Businesses tie their strategy to their vision. 6-Figure Businesses react to whatever opportunities come their way.
8-Figure Business leaders carve out monthly time for clarity breaks. 6-Figure Business leaders grind for 60+ hours a week, believing hustle is the only way.
Action Step: Adopt these habits with the belief that your business—and your leadership—can grow beyond today’s limits.
2) Aim to 10X Your Business
Too often, WE CEOs focus on incremental progress, driven by fear of failure or a desire to mitigate risk. But as authors Hardy and Sullivan argue, thinking in terms of 10X goals creates clearer priorities, fewer pathways (think 80:20 rule), and greater focus.
Action step: Write down your 10X goal for 2025. It could be in terms of 10x revenue, or profits, or days off for the year, etc compared to your actual in 2024. Now look at where you spend time in your business and ask yourself: What’s one activity where I am most valuable in my business and I should focus more on to achieve my 10x goal?
3) Clarity Breaks
Chaos thrives when you don’t make space to think. That’s why scheduling a monthly clarity break is non-negotiable for growth-minded CEOs. Give yourself 2 hours—or a full day—to reflect on where your business is, where you want it to go, and what’s getting in the way.
Action step: Open your calendar right now and block out your first clarity break within 30 days.
4) Change Your Mindset from Fixed to Growth
When challenges arise, do you think:
Fixed Mindset: “This is just how it is. I’ll make do.”
Growth Mindset: “What can I learn? How can I make this better?”
Growth-minded leaders see obstacles as opportunities to innovate and improve.
Action step: Think of the last time you had a setback in your business. Did you respond with a fixed or growth mindset?

PS
* Edge of chaos is considered the optimal environment for creativity, innovation, and significant learning. Embracing uncertainty and taking calculated risks can lead to substantial personal or professional growth. One example is that your profits will go down while you are investing in growth, but you have to take that path to seize the growth.
